Hair Perfume

It is pleasant to perfume the hair after washing it when the hair is half dry. The following ingredients are required to make this fragrant perfume.
  • 6 tablespoons powdered charcoal
  • 5 tablespoons powders myrrh
  • 1 tablespoon powdered benzoin
  • 1 tablespoon potassium nitrate
  • 2-3 drops oil of bergamot
  • 2-3 drops of sandalwood
  • mucilage of tragacanth
Mix the powders together and sieve, and then add the oils. Add the potassium nitrate, and then sufficient mucilage of tragacanth to make a stiff paste.
Heat the mixture over a water bath and then make into little cones and dry. Just light one of the cones and let the smoke go into the damp hair.
The smell is highly aromatic and exotic.

Facial Exercises

Excellent exercises for face to improve facial muscle tone can be done at home. Make it a daily habit. here are some:

Eyelid Firmer - To discourage fine lines, look at yourself in the mirror. Stare  wide eyed as in a surprised look. Shut yes tightly. Repeat six times.

Forehead Lift - To soften forehead lines, look in the mirror. Raise your eyebrows  as high as you can. Lower slowly.

Mouth Maneuvers - To smoothen out  those fine lines around the mouth. Look at yourself in the mirror. Forced a smile with lips closed. Pucker up those lips as though giving someone a closed kiss.

Cheeky Blow-up - This is a mouth fine line remover. Shut your mouth and with closed lips puff up your cheeks. Push air from one side of the cheek to the next. Slowly release the air. Repeat six times.

Chin-up - This should help you avoid double chin. With an open mouth, thrust forward and up. Feel the chin and neck muscles tighten. Release. Repeat.

Neck-firm - This is your great neck muscle firmer. With an open mouth, say "blah" while sticking your tongue out and downward. It looks funny but it's fun.

Shampoo

Clean hair is healthy hair. Washing the hair should be as important as washing the face. If it tends to be oily, wash hair daily. If dry, every other day will do.

try these practical steps:

1. Wet hair with tepid water. Make sure that it's been thoroughly wet before applying shampoo.

2. Mix a handful of shampoo with a little water. This will help your hair lather faster and prevent concentration of shampoo on the scalp.

3. Choose a mild shampoo. there are many good brands available in the market. But know your hair type before choosing. There are special choices for those with dry, oily, color-treated or permed hair.

4. Use only the cushion of your fingers and not the fingernails when shampooing. keep the shampoo away from the scalp although you can lather it thoroughly. Avoid shampoo build up to clog your pores.

5. Do not pull or tug the hair. You may not notice the hair damage until later.

6. Rinse with cool water to close the scalp's pores and the outer covering of the hair.

7. Apply conditioner the same way you did the shampoo, diluted with water. Work at it from the ends of the hair upwards.

8. Pat dry your hair or wrap it with a towel.

9. Comb out hair with a wide toothed comb when hair is drier.

10. If you can, blow dry in the coolest setting.

11. Style your hair gently. Comb it carefully.

    How to Look Younger?

"Cheerfulness and contentment are great beautifiers and are famous preservers of youthful looks." -- Charles Dickens

Here are a few beauty tricks that will make you look younger with just a sweep of a blush brush or mascara wand.

    1. Keep your hair between your chin and your shoulders.
Side-swept bangs and hair no longer than your shoulders will take off years.

    2. Wrong lipstick shades can age you
Another trick to looking younger is to steer clear of brown lipstick shades. Avoid matte lipstick as they tend to settle into your lip lines. Instead, try creamier lipsticks or glosses. (Glosses are especially youthful and make your lips appear bee-stung).

    3. Stick to creamy blushes and shadows
Older skin usually means dry skin, so creamy blushes and shadows are your best bet. Also, powder blushes and shadows tend to settle into your fine lines and wrinkles, while creamier products "plump" up your skin.

    4. Define those eyes
Curled lashes immediately make eyes "pop." One tip I love I learned from the editors of Allure: You can curl your lashes AFTER mascara application, just make sure the mascara has dried. I find lining my eyes helps make my somewhat tiny eyes look 10 times larger. I rarely leave the house now without mascara.

    5. Don't over pluck
Once you hit your 30s, you'll want to be careful not to over pluck your eyebrows since brows are less apt to grow back if you excessively pluck.

    6. Try teeth whitening
Over time, teeth may yellow from coffee, tea or red wine stains.

    7. Stand up straight.
Think about all the sexy women you know. They stand up straight and confidently. Not only will this make you look ten pounds thinner in seconds, it will make you look five years younger as well

    8. Get a good night's sleep
Few things age you overnight more than a poor night's sleep. Your eyes are puffy, your skin sallow and dull and your face sags.

    Beauty Regimen at Night

All of us want to look young and beautiful. But how many really stay that way? As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day, and if you want to look attractive and fresh, you should follow not just an efficient beauty regime, but also a regular one.

For busy homemakers and corporate executives alike, it is not always possible to maintain a regular beauty regime, unless it is a habitual visit to the nearest beauty salon. Instead of spending money on artificial and expensive treatments, here is a simple schedule to groom yourself naturally. Just before you go to bed, allot a period of ten minutes. Yes, all it takes is just that little time to keep you looking young and glowing.

    Foot Care
Feeling terrible after a tiring day? As soon as you return home, soak your feet in a basin of warm water mixed with a handful of fragrant bath salts. After 10 minutes, wash your feet (a simple soap and water wash is sufficient).

If you aren't feeling sleepy by this time, take a foot filer and scrub your heels. Using a toothpick (orange stick) clean the edges and grooves around your toe nails, to remove the dirt that gets accumulated. Apply cold cream or moisturizer before winding up. This will make the skin soft and prevent people from running away at the sight of your feet.

    Face Wash/Scrub
Cleansing your face before going to bed is essential to take away the dirt you might have picked up in your day. Walnut scrub is ideal for oily skin. Make sure you scrub your face in circling motions and wash with cold water. For those with dry or sensitive skin can use baby oil or wet cleansing pads, followed by a night cream.

    Night Cream/Moisturizing
The right time to apply any treatment, especially moisturizer - be it for whitening the skin, under-eye cream or simple moisturizing. It will revitalize your facial skin and work wonders on skin, which had been exposed to all the dirt and grime in the daytime. It would be a good idea to use it on your arms and neck, too.

    Your Hair
While oil is not the elixir of life to hair, it IS essential in keeping it well conditioned and supple. Leave oil overnight and wash in the morning with shampoo to get better results.
Heat a little amount of oil (olive oil, almond oil, or plain old coconut oil) by placing it in a small container and swirling it in hot water. After the oil gets considerably hot, massage the scalp with your fingertips, in rotating motion, for at least 8 - 10 minutes. You can do this while soaking your feet in warm water.

    Castor Oil
Applying pure castor oil to your eyebrows and lashes, particularly those who have scanty growth, will make them grow thick and long. For tired or puffed eyes, place a cotton pad soaked in chilled rose water. Keeping thin slices of cucumber ready in the refrigerator beforehand is ideal.

Grated cucumber, by itself or mixed with carrot juice, can be spread under the eye, to reduce black circles and sagging skin.

    Lip Guard
And finally, a smear of Vaseline on your lips, and you can sleep like a child and get up like a fairy!
